ECCA2025 under esteemed patronage of the UN Ocean Decade and Italian Institutions

ECCA2025 organised under the patronage of the UN Ocean Decade, Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Municipality of Rimini.

We are proud to announce that ECCA2025 is held under the patronage of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

As the UN Ocean Conference (Jun 9 - 13) wraps up in Nice -  a week of collaboration, science, and renewed commitment to protecting our ocean, we at ECCA are honoured to continue the conversation. At ECCA2025, the ocean is a crucial topic within our programme, highlighted through the theme on “Protecting Coastal and Mountain Areas.” The theme will feature prominently at the conference, with sessions on sea-level rise, coastal resilience, nature-based solutions, and more.

We also look forward to having Nadia Pinardi from the Decade Collaborative Centre on Coastal Resilience / Sea Level Rise Knowledge Hub, who will speak at our closing plenary, contributing to the dialogue on how science must inform global action.

In addition to the UN Ocean Decade, ECCA2025 is organised under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Municipality of Rimini. This strong support at every level: municipal, regional, and national,  is testament to the commitment of making climate adaptation a shared, local-to-global priority.
